Harbor Tug Morning Star Mirror
This unique mirror shows an intricately crafted 1950's London tug boat in classic dockyard fashion. The different angles on the mirror create the look of a full model. You will be able to see the tug boat from several different angles. Most shipyard models from around the 1900s were made in this interesting way. Table and shelf spaces were much preferred. This one of a kind mirror is a great gift for the nautical enthusiast and an eye catching piece of nautical decor
The Tug is a model of the London Tug "Rana". (Latin for "frog") became a familiar sight in the London dockyards for many years.
Harland & Wolff, the Belfast shipyard famous for building the Titanic, were responsible for the first half models mounted on a mirror, which then tricked the eye into seeing a full model embedded into the wall. You have to see it to believe it, since it doesn't show on a picture.
