AP151Red Crackle Propeller
Sale!
Propellers being one of the sturdiest parts of early planes, many survived and ended up as wall décor for collectors and flight-buffs. Old ones now being rare and highly collectable. This 47" wood Propeller with an antiqued red crackle paint has been recreated in the memory of the flying ace. The First World War squadron leaders had their planes painted in highly individual colors, a tradition born from medieval warfare and jousting tournaments. Flying early planes was considered a gentleman's occupation, and propellers were beloved collectables often the only part of a plane that was deemed worthy of saving.
