WG015F Time & WeatherTabletop Weather Glass
Elegant Handblown glass vessel Walnut wood stand with an antiqued french finish Brass arch and hand-turned feet Brass drip cup
This is a great conversation piece. An invention that goes back centuries and still intrigues, baffles, and amazes. A handblown glass vessel with an elegantly shaped spout. A weather glass is basically a water based barometer that measure atmospheric pressure. Air pressure pushes the water up the spout. During particularly drastic weather changes it may drip out of the spout. Don't worry that is the reason for the brass drip cup. Fill it with colored water to approximately one inch above where the spout joins the glass body. King George III collected scientific instruments, not for function but for form and beauty. The brass arch, mahogany base and brass details turn this weather glass into a work of art.
